Nike‘s “Planet of Hoops” galaxy has gained a new member thanks to the Adapt BB 2.0. Likely a finale to the expansive Nike Basketball and Nike Sportswear pack that started its rollout in April, this new Adapt BB 2.0 offers a navy, crimson and volt green color scheme reminiscent of Kevin Durant‘s classic KD 4 “Nerf.”A rich navy blue is front and center on the upper, accented by a textured crimson Swoosh that swoops across the top of the foot. More crimson is present on the collar’s lining and the small outlined Swoosh on the medial side. Volt green gets in on the mix as well, appearing on tongue tabs and the heel badge — the latter of which adds a hand-scrawled “Planet of Hoops” graphic. Rounding things off up top are metallic silver tongues, toebox details and a sculpted heel piece with a clear to blue gradient fade.Down below, midsoles house the Adapt BB 2.0’s signature power lacing system, which tightens or loosens the Swoosh-equipped forefoot sheath on the upper and can be controlled from an app on the wearer’s iPhone or Android device. Its placement is denunciated by red-rimmed clear buttons, which can be used to manually tighten or loosen the fit and also light up in customizable colors. The rest of the midsole is dressed in navy with neon green speckles, and a semi-translucent neon green outsole with a patch of solid orange rubber where its forefoot Zoom Turbo unit is stored complete the look.
Already released in the “Hare” colorway, the all-new LeBron Soldier 14 is now showcased in the :Kay Yow” color option. The Lebron Soldier series is no stranger to the Kay Yow collection as this new 14 comes draped in black all throughout the upper in a ballistic mesh construction that resembles carbon fiber along with synthetic overlays. For contrast we see bright pink accents on the laces, inner liner, the Swoosh logos on both the medial and lateral sides, the Kay Yow ribbon on the medial ankle, the heel, and the translucent outsole. Get a first look at the Nike LeBron Soldier 14 “Kay Yow” above and look for a release to take place later this year.
Following the “Black/Atomic Dust” color way release in July, Nike Basketball now returns with a patriotic new colorway for the Kyrie S2 Hybrid. The uppers of the mid-top silhouette are adorned with tie-dye swirls of red, white and blue across its uppers. Gold swooshes are also added to the mix for a sophisticated look with deep navy tones hitting the laces and treaded soles for good measure.Nike states that the overall design references the 2014 and 2016 USA Olympic team kits alongside subtle graphic elements from traditional USA jersey designs worn in various international competitions. However, SB-heads would probably count the legendary “What the Dunk” low skate shoe as the primary influence albeit the original pair featured mismatched left and right feet with various patterning — unlike the Kyrie S2 that we see here.As far as specs are concerned, the shoe features all its signature trappings: toothed midsole tooling, a Venus flytrap-inspired lace covers, and the ridged TPU heel that holds the uppers together. The Kyrie S2 Hybrid “What the USA” can now be picked up at select stockists and Nike’s official website for $209 USD.
The Nike Zoom Freak 2 made its debut at retailers last week as it released in the Naija colorway. Throughout the rest of 2020 you can expect Giannis and Nike to drop colorways left and right with one of them being this White Cement colorway shown above. This White Cement colorway of the Nike Zoom Freak 2 is inspired by the four-mile concrete trek that Antetokounmpo would regularly make as a youth from his Sepolia neighborhood in Athens to the gym for practice. The sneaker features a white mesh construction on the upper with large black Swooshes on the lateral side panels and small red Swooshes on the medial sides. Finishing details include a cement grey speckled midsole, a white and tan marbled rubber outsole, and the Nike Freak logo on the tongue in metallic silver.
The Kyrie Low 3 “NY vs NY” is an exclusive variation of Kyrie Irving’s signature low-top basketball sneaker and it’s a tribute to the Nike-hosted tournament featuring the top men’s and women’s basketball talent across the boroughs of New York City. Flaunting an eye-catching profile, the model flaunts a vibrant color blocking theme across, alongside a scribbled Swoosh logo on the lateral heel. Finally, the thematic “NY vs NY” logo appears on the right tongue while it’s adhered atop a speckled midsole and white rubber outsole.
